Asha’s words to live by: “Better is possible, it does not take genius, it takes diligence, moral clarity, ingenuity and empathy; but above all it takes a willingness to try.”
Metaphysically and literally speaking, the journey of life origins within every woman’s body and having witnessed first hand the strength and resilience of each and every woman that came to MFH’s fistula camp, made me aware of how little they have, how little they ask for, and how grateful they are. Medicine for Humanity and Drs. Leo Lagasse and Chris Tarnay’s inspirational mission to improve and transform the lives of women all over the world is a true testament to a surgeon’s poignant statement “Better is possible, it does not take genius, it takes diligence, moral clarity, ingenuity and empathy; but above all it takes a willingness to try.
