Jeff’s words to live by: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
I first became involved with Medicine for Humanity as its legal counsel through the Community Justice Clinic at Pepperdine University School of Law. In the clinic, we seek collaborative clients who are devoted to human rights, economic development, and justice for vulnerable communities on the margins of society. These causes are at the heart of Medicine for Humanity’s mission and work, so our partnership was perfect. In years of work for victims of domestic violence and gender-based crimes, I am convinced that the empowerment of women and girls is the human rights cause of our century. I joined the board to help advance this cause through MFH’s critical work. This work is essential for the well-being of our patients, but it is also a model of dignity and justice for communities around the world.
